Teams are made up of equal number of men and women, though some leagues will allow teams to play with more females than males. Most leagues will put the net at mens height (7’11”) but some leagues may use a designated coed height (Usually 7’8”). Leagues may have rules enforcing female contacts or alternate serving order by gender.

This is a term for Reverse 4s, where teams have a maximum of four players on the court. This format is played on a womens height net (7’4”). The league may have restrictions on the number of men or women on a team, but not all do. Men cannot attack or block in front of the attack line, only women can, and other rules specific to 4v4 play may be in effect.
